Glory

Life stinks at times, and sometimes for long periods of time.

This is part of a song that I am loving currently. It's by Mercy Me and it so adequately sums up how our attitude should be about the stinky times of life. While it never seems natural to me to say, "I love trials and hard times - they really bring out the best in me," it is so awesome to see how God can lead you during these times.

And to ever get to the point where you can say "Bring me anything that brings You glory" is just a huge testament to a loving God that totally holds your life in His hand. Because when God does do something in your life that is so totally and completely GOD - and absolutely, positively nothing else - all you want to do is shout it from the mountaintops. God is truly amazing!!

Bring The Rain

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

The last little bit of Psalm 118 (The Message) says:

You're my God, and I thank you.
O my God, I lift high your praise.
Thank God- he's so good.
His love never quits!!

I wasn't quite sure why He woke me at 3:12 on a Sunday morning (even though the baby sleeps)...now I know! I couldn't agree with you more. I love that song and have felt the exact same feelings- Life does get super stinky and He is so good!
